From the looks of what I’ve been seeing on the docks lately — fishing is good.
The red snapper are coming in at a good size grade.
Also there are a lot of amberine and grouper showing up.
The one fish that’s making it’s way on the scene is the wahoo. In the last few days, I’ve seen a half dozen wahoo on the docks. A youngster hauled one in the other day that was about as big as he was — 72 pounder. Then yesterday, I saw about three or four wahoo. Not as big, but still good eating.
Capt. Tony Davis on the Anastasia said the wahoo are showing up a lot closer in — the seven to eight mile range.
